​The Marine and Freshwater Research Institute is in charge of advising and releasing the fish stock coutas. The capelin stock assessment and ecosystem monitoring aims to combine the acoustical dataset of capelin distribution with the hydrographic dataset existing on the institute. This will to improve the assessment of the stock and will help in understanding the interannual variability.
